On offer with , a rare 9ct gold and sterling silver Victorian Masonic ball. The inside of one securing clasp is stamped 9ct along with the maker\'s mark S.L.

This is the mark of Solomon Lyon, a watchmaker and jeweller, recorded as working from Frederick Street, Birmingham, in the 1890\'s.

The ball is in exceptionally fine antique condition, with only some slight age related wear commensurate with age.The wear is mainly around the the suspension loop and jump ring, most probably caused over the years by friction rubbing on a watch chain. Also, some loss of gilding on the inside silver pyramids, again due to age.

Other than the points mentioned the the ball displays well, and is in exceptionally fine antique condition. All hinges and clasps in excellent working order.

The ball measures 5/8\" (1.6cm) in diameter. : Open cruciform size 1 3/4\" x 1 1/4\" (4.5cm x 3.2cm).
