18C/19C CHINESE OPENWORK CARVED ZITAN WOOD STAND OF BATS AMOUNGST THE CLOUDS:

I am very pleased to be able to offer yet another specialty stand from my personal collection and again this one as a few others over the past month or so is made from Zitan wood and was produced in China during the last quarter of the 18c or the first quarter of the 19c and would have been made exclusively for a special particular item which was most likely a small jade carving, hardstone or an item of a fine material due to the quality of this stand. The workmanship is performed in a full openwork style of carving with the top having a slight oval shape with smoke or cloudscirclingthe outside perimeter then the carving continues outward having more clouds or smoke all connected to each other swirling around full bodied bats in various poses and the details are quite amazing with the inside bottom showing the soft glow of the Zitan wood. The condition is very well kept needing only a bit of a clean otherwise I cannot see any cracks, chips, losses or repairs other than in the second picture shows the bat on the middle left having a slightly dull look to the head which may have been touched up or possibly dirt but I did not even see it until looking at the close-ups and other than that the stand is wonderful. Sizes: Length 2-1/2\" x Depth 2-1/4\" x Height 1-7/8\", The top Foot Ring is a bit oval in shape and the inner measurements are: Length 1\" x Depth 7/8\". These types of stands were never plentiful before and the smaller ones were always harder to find and now it isbecomingrare to find these Zitan carved specialty stands so offer to win as you will not bedisappointed.
