What makes this seal different from all other Jewish seals from Europe I\'ve seen is the style of the lettering and the quality of the casting. This is not simple Hebrew characters engraved in a mirror image, but extremely large letters that are cast and executed in the manner of Hebrew letters found in holy books of the 17th and 18th centuries. Look at the letter \"Daled\"; notice the protrusion in the center of the letter (a bubble or circle of sorts), this is found on high end silver and pewter Judaica of the 17th and 18th century from Europe, generally from Germany or Bohemia. This style of lettering went out of fashion by the 19th century.

Even more curious is the crown motif above the Hebrew letters of Aleph and Daled. What does it mean? When found on amulets, it means \"Crown of Torah\", but what man (Rebbe?), puts a crown of Torah above the initials to his name? More likely is it the abbreviation to a Synagogue? Yeshiva? Charity? I\'m stumped.

.75 of an inch high, .75 of an inch wide. Insured shipping is $7 to anywhere in the USA, registered airmail worldwide is $28.
