A lovely white jade withceladon overtones, this proud little guy has that head raised imperial stance.Many times throughout our years of collecting, we have felt the idealizedcreatures had just a touch of the emperor\'s arrogance. We see it here, yet wereally love him and it is obvious his decorations are for proud ceremonialpurposes; he is ready to go and proud of his position. The vestiges of rustwork well in this carving and the well-polished coloration is the finest quality.The deep engraving speaks well for the artist who conceived and executed thisfine sculpture, that being the simple craftsmanship of an artist who does notoverdo.
