Late 18th/early 19th century Spanish colonial carved wooden figureof the Virgin Mary wearing a crown and standing on an orb,her hands clasped inprayer.
The figure retains its original painted decorationin greenish blue and red.
The Virgin and the orb are carved from one piece of woodthat slots into the original plinth (see photo).
Condition: minor losses to her little fingers.Slight crack from her right shoulder down towards her hands.
Height: 21\" (53.3 cms) x Width: 6.3\" (16 cms) x Depth (of stand): 5.75\" (14.5 cms).
