Super old Hupa or Modoc Indian bow, I have been told this piece is most probably from the 1700s or older. All traces of the red and black paint are long gone , this was most probably a cave find at some point in time. Measures 47.5\" long and is 3\" wide on both limbs, the bow was obviously tild by an expert bow maker of the period. Wonderful piece of Northern California history and definatley worthy of any collection or museum. For short money the bow can be aged within 30 years plus or minus with a sliver 1/4 the size of a tooth pic. I was told the national forest headquarter was the cheapest place to have the test done for about $25 . I have choose not to take anything from it as most California tribes consider this bow to be living. It should be prayed to,sung to and fed,watered etc. there ancestors made it, that\'s there religion and I\'m going to respect that. looks a bit thirsty, so I\'m kinda in agreement!!!!!!
