beautiful and very rare antique 18th century silver marriage box ca 1780 in great shape for age , this kind of box was given out in Scandinavian as an engagement gift to a young woman from her fiancé , called a hovedvandsaeg in Denmark , the box may be Swedish , Danish or Norwegian , the design is lovely , beautiful heart shape box on afooted stand , crown finial , withhinged lid , beautifulwiggle work design and crossand pin work engraving with the lettersAKO AND DL , the boxhas a gold wash inside , box is hallmarked on base. measures 3 inches tall ,again in wonderfulshape for age , slight imperfections but overall in great shape for a box over 220 years old , hope it goes to a fine home or collection , item sold as is ,thanks and good luck !!!!
