This is a new, hand-made reproduction Colonial era men\'s round hat. This style, properly formed on a round hat block (a number of reproduction hats are made on an oblong hat form which is of a much later style), is a common form of round hat that would have been in use from the early 1700\'s well into the early 1800\'s, though is ideal for the 1740\'s through 1810\'s.Perfect for colonial English impressions of the French & Indian War, or for American Revolutionary War impressions this works for civilian, militia, early Continental Army and other impressions.Made from 100% wool felt, the hat was formed and treated on a round hat block, cut with a 3.5 inch brim. The crown is bound with black 100% silk tape which is finished in a half-rosette (that can be worn to the side or the front). The two-piece bag lining is made from 100% linen, the crown piece being bleached white linen with a period-style hat label, and the sweatband made from a bluish-grey linen (actually a blend of blue and yellow fibers, giving it a light mixed blue color), and features a white linen tape drawstring.All completely hand sewn with linen thread.The hat should fit men\'s sizes 7 1/8 (22 3/8\") to 7 3/8 (23 1/8\"). The round blocked crown fits differently from an oblong, but can easily be stretched, or lightly steamed or dampened around the crown for a better fit.
