Super fine and rare 18th Century American hand forged Iron Rush Light !! The real rarity lies in the Candle Socket Counter Balance for the Rush Pliers part of the Lamp. It could be used either by burning Wooden Spills on the Rush side or a Tallow Candle on the other. Or both at the same time for added lighting !! There are many reproductions made today imitating these early Lamps and most are Fakes, made to look authentic. I guarantee this example is not a Fake and made in the late 18th to very early 19th Century. Great early form with Penny Feet and a chard surface from years of use.
