Perfect for collectors and colonial household is this 18th c Dish Topped Octagonal Candlestand with splayed spider feet base in diminutive size. Top is made of Eastern pine and shows good color and wavy heart grain, with turned baluster riser showing some cherry checkered graining of the hardwood used, 18th c furniture cabinetmakers always used a blend of woods, this is not a marriage, all parts belong together. Old natural patina has never been painted nor stripped, this was cherry picked froma Philadelphia Main Line estate. Candlestand sits steady, no rocky/no shakey, beautiful primitive Early American form perfect for small corner, chairside, under an eave. Spider legs are dovetailed with age shrinkage into central baluster.

Measurements are: 18\" across the Octagon top edge to edge stands 26.5\" tall, nice period proportions.

Condition Report:Untouched original as found genuine antique, with no splitsto top surface.Untouched patina. One small screw has been added to lower central baluster riser as shown near leg. Oxidized nice dark under bottom.One smallold slash to dishtop side edge as shown. No warp or any issues with finish. Smoke free home.
