Excellentantique textile, assumed to be American, Eastern seaboard, possible NJ or PA…onefor the expert collectors. Buyers should rely on their own knowledge andresearch in determining maker, age, region of origin, etc.

Fine, 18thC cross stitch sampler by Elizabeth Smith, circa 1786.This textile features five (5) different styles of alphabet, separated by ornatedividers, along with numbers and wonderful floral motif at the bottom, to eachside of her name, which looks to be within a schoolhouse. A great survivor.

Size/Condition: Textileby sight measures 10.25”x 11.5”. Please also refer to ALL of the photographs asthey are part of the description. Not examined out of frame. Hasapparent age-related discoloration/toning, thread wear to upper right cornerand at three (3) spots along left edge. Signed and dated by the maker, bottomcenter. Frame shows wear at corners, small flake left edge.
