Main DescriptionThis fine and impressive vintage amethyst cocktail ring has been crafted in 14ct yellow gold in the Art Deco style.
The high profile mount displays a fourteen claw set 19.48ct round mixed cut natural amethyst held in relief.
The amethyst is encircled by fourteen green paste* beads set above a scalloped edged, textured petal design border.
The 14ct yellow gold shank has a multi-strand arrangement which flares and divides at the shoulders.
The main strands of the shoulders integrate into the impressive setting.
This vintage amethyst cocktail ring is hallmarked to the interior of the shank with the 14ct gold fineness mark (585), and is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.
Due to the style of the ring, there is a high probability of German origin.
NOTE:
*Paste \'gemstones\' were a part of evening jewellery sets. Such crystals, which were made of high-lead-content glass and had a permanent foil backing, were used to give the illusion of almost any gemstone, such as diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and amethysts.
Condition
This vintage 1940\'s dress ring is fine quality set with a large natural amethyst and green paste beads.
The ring is a very good gauge of gold and is in excellent condition with a clear hallmark to the interior of the shank.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of vintage jewellery/estate jewelry.
