14.5 inches by 16.5 inches. Circa 1900. Metallic thread fringe edge, wool needlepoint on silk. Three inner slits made of cotton. Dates to circa 1900 from Romania or Hungary. Decoration of roses, leaves, and two birds, which appear to be a standing and sitting pelican. Last photo is from the collection of the Jewish Musuem of New York.

I\'ve seen these types of bags in old sale catalogs with birds like parrots and doves, but never, ever, a pelican.
