Here for your consideration is an amazing dessert set for 6 made by William Hutton and Sons from London. The set is dated 1900.The handles are mother of pearl and everything else is sterling silver. Such a high quality set of silver.This dessert set was presented to Jessie MacGregor in 1905 by the students of the Medical College for Women Edinburgh. I did some research on Ms MacGregor and didn\'t have enough picture room to put the history of her. She sounds like an amazing woman and the first amongst to be accepted into medical school when woman weren\'t accepted as doctors. She did become a MD and died of an illness in 1906. The year after she received this lovely set. The acid edging on the knife blades and demitasse spoons are just amazing in detail. There are a total of 20 pieces to the set(including box)The knives measure 7\" long. The forks measure 5 1/2\" long. The demitasse spoons measure 4 1/2\" long. The tongs are 4 1/4\" long. All of the pieces are monogrammed JMM. All pieces have the same maker\'s mark. London. 1900. William Hutton & Sons.The set appears to have been used very little. I did take a picture of the knives handles/bands. All handles are attached securely, but as you can see in the photos, the handles have a little adhesive showing between the bands and handles.An amazing set with so much history. It comes in a lovely leather presentation box with a crushed velvet lining that is in good condition with a little wear.I have more photos if you need any other information.A lovely addition to add to one\'s collection.
