1900s UNUSUAL TIFFANY STERLING SILVER HIDDEN COMPARTMENT DESK PIECE:

Here is a very unusual Tiffany sterling silver desk or smoker’s container with a bottom, swivel open hidden compartment. It sits 3 1/2” high with a bottom diameter of 1 3/4”. The hinged top opens up to reveal a shiny silver chamber. The top of the lid has a deep red polished stone finial. The very bottom has a 7/16” by 1 1/4” hidden compartment that swivels open. It could have been for stamps, pills, pins, etc. The underside bottom has a raised dot (striker surface?) embossed surface an the marks “Tiffany & Co. 14100 Makers L769 Sterling 925-1000 7T.” This piece has not been cleaned or altered in any way. All the sections have embossed decorative silver scroll work.
