AS-IS ITALIAN VILLAS AND THEIR GARDENS BOOK BY EDITH WHARTON WITH MAXFIELD PARRISH PLATES AND PROMO PHOTOGRAPH CARD FROM CIRCA 1903This RARE EDITION (promo?) antique linen hard-covered book is sold AS-IS since the binding has come apart. All of the pages are there and there is no formal publisher\'s page but the publishing info is on the back page of the second article (The Century Co. 1903). This anthology book consists of 6 articles written for The Century Magazine by Edith Wharton hence the page numbers reflect the actual magazine\'s pages (not renumbered). Villas Of Venetia (pages 885-902)The book has about 75 pages which includes 16 MAXFIELD PARRISH full sized color plates with 10 full sized B/W half tone plates (6.75\" x 9.5\" book/plate size)...some are shown in the photos. Also included is an original PHOTOGRAPH PROMO Christmas CARD inscribed from \"me\" and \"the entire office\" which was found inside the book. This Christmas card was probably given along with this book as a gift/promo from the publisher or author since I haven\'t seen any examples of this binding on the internet. The page with the publishing info also indicates a Christmas issue.This book is in good condition for its age with the exception of the binding falling apart. There are some minor foxing dots on some of the pages and back cover and one colored plate has a foxing dot. The rest of the colored plates look great and are suitable for framing.Insurance is included with FREE SHIPPING in the U.S.
