This is a highly specialized 12 1/8\" long VictorianLarge Claret (red wine or alcohol with fruit, think Sangria) Spoon. It is marked W.R. Keystone, for Wm A. Rogers Ltd, in\"Half Plate\". The paddle end points up. This appears to be the Windsor pattern of Niagara Silver Co. which Rogers acquired in 1904. Oneida acquired Rogers in 1929 and this pattern and spoon are listed at Replacements under Oneida pattern OHS 233, referencing 1877 Niagara. Rogers had their own paddle pattern called Brighton. There are no initials and only slight wear to the silver plate on some high points. If you wish to properlystir your pitcher of claret, you will need this spoon. The only examples of Claret Spoons currently available at Replacements are solid sterling and priced at as much as $400.00.
