LouisianaPurchase Exposition St. Louis Medal, 1904. 32mm (1¼“). Bronze. Jean-Batiste DanielDupuis, Sc. (1849-1899). Struck by the Monnaie de Paris (Paris Mint). AboutUncirculated, with a few minor spots, rim nicks and a beautiful medium-brown patina. Obverse: depicts Ceres, the Goddess of Agriculture, facing left. Signedin left field along edge: DANIEL DVPVIS. Reverse: six-line inscription: 1803/ Louisiana/ Purchase/ Exposition/St. Louis/ 1904; with Cornucopia mint hallmark and BRONZE at 7 o’clockposition.

Dupuis’beautiful “Goddess of Agriculture” first appeared as a souvenir medal for the1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris.
