This sale is for an authentic straw boater hat from the prestigious Chamberlain Hat store in Boston. Please go to this address to see its former location in Boston in 1904 on Washington Street near the Lyceum Theater. The store no longer exists. The actual age is unknown as this is from an estate sale.
This is a stiff beige/ natural straw hat with the label and address of the hat maker embossed in gold on the interior of the brown leather hat band. There is also a decorative crest with a lion on a cream silk liner which is sewn inside the top of the hat. Underneath the hat band there is a label which reads Panama Straw. The initials of the original owner are also embossed in gold. The 2 inch wide black ribbon and bow are in excellent condition.
It measures 21 1/8 in around the interior rim of the hat and according to the web this corresponds to Size 6 3/4 or a Size Small
There is a slight lift to the right side brim from storage no doubt and a few tiny white dots on the top.Otherwise, this hat looks new.Shipping by Priority Mail with tracking. Please forward all questions and I will do my best to answer.
