I am selling an antique \"1905 Hermann Clemenz \"Jesus Christ\'s Crucifixion\" Framed Painting Print.\" This is such a powerful painting / print from 1905. It depicts Jesus Christ at the moment he will be placed on the cross. The Ethiopian is pictured laying down the cross he carried for Christ. The two thieves are already hanging there. It appears Jesus\' mother, Mary, has fainted at his side, and Mary Magdelene is on His other side, wrenching her hair in tremendous grief. The Roman guards are also present in this picture, ready to gamble for His clothing. The clouds are dark and ominous, and have followed Christ up the hill, the sin of the world upon His shoulders.

I have brightened the colors in the picture. The second photo of the painting, against a white background, is a more accurate representation of the print, with blue/gray color tones which makes it seem more somber. It\'s signed in the lower left hand corner \"H. Clemenz 1905 Great Brtn (Britain?).\" It was painted by a German painter named Hermann Clemenz, who was born in 1852 and died in 1930. The painting says \'Great Britain\' in the lower left hand corner, so perhaps that\'s where he painted it. The back of the frame has a label on it which reads: \"Catholic Church Supplies, J.W. Winterrich, Quality Service, Pictures--Picture Framing, 60 South Fourth St., Columbus, Ohio, 1865 Prospect Ave., Cleveland, Ohio.\" The picture is 42\" long by 28\" high. It has the original glass in the frame which makes it heavy and very fragile. I will pack it with great care!

CONDITION: This 109 year old picture is in very good condition for the age. The frame has bumping on the corners (some more than others), and some mild damage (by a bug?) which I have photographed. The colors are subdued and are more a blue/gray tone. There is a little bit of wrinkling to the picture, but not bad. The frame is wood and has been painted a warm bronze / gold color. I did not remove the picture from the back. It\'s as it was originally framed. I believe the glass on the other side needs cleaned, but I didn\'t want to risk it. It\'s just a beautiful print.
