A very interesting silver repousse cup with a most unusual handle type... when you look at this you can see its a vintage - modern copy - replica of a much older item going by the repousse work and the handle especially.

Anyway this cup is much easier to date as it has an English hallmark of Chester 1907 makers mark...GN over RH ...George Nathan & Ridley Hayes.

This is a copy - replica of a much earlier cup found in the Aegean ...Mycenaean - Minoan area of ancient Greece.... you will see very SIMILAR cups ....but the original ones are made of gold.. and not silver..

There are any amount of websites relating to this sort of cup and the way the handles are sheet etc.

It is a very nice item if you are into collecting unusual silver items or ancient history items too... its probably come from a museum shop.. especially commissioned for a certain year etc... or it could well have been 1 of a series of items made by a company from differant periods.. similar to the HEIRLOOM ANTIQUES company ....which I have the Roman Bowl & Spoon from them....any number of companies made these.

This is a very nice cup..its 3 inch tall x nearly 4 inch top rim dia x 2 and a half inch base rim dia and it weighs approx......205grams.
