Very rare and fascinating \"1908 Patriotic Political Postcard, Gold Gilt, Taft and Sherman\" Copyright 1908, Rose Hyman. This wonderful \"Taft for President Postcard measures approx. 5 3/8” by 3 1/2” (14 cm. x 9 cm.) and is formatted like a Photo Postcards of the time, with a divided back. It has a red, gold and navy blue frame, with a photo of Taft on the left, and the wordage \"For President Hon. William H. Taft.\" Sherman on the right, and the writing under his photos says, \"For Vice President, Hon. James S. Sherman.\" There is red and white draping surrounding the photos. Below the photos obligatory gold gilt, bald eagle standing atop a a red, white and blue shield at the bottom. It is full of symbolism. This wonderful, uber-patriotic, \"1908 Presidential, Political Postcard, is very typical of the time. It was used … sent through the mail through the mail to: Master Bretz Connor, Akersville, Fullton co. Pa., and postmarked Oct. 1908. And if you can read what the sender wrote, you are a better man than I am. I think I saw something about \"turkeys,\" … that\'s about it. This patriotic post card is in excellent condition. The image is clean, and crisp, with strong contrast and rich tonality. There is mild soiling, and there is only a small amount of wear at the corners … no edge wear.
