Esmeralda County, Nevada

In the early days, the rich silver ore was hauled by wagon to the town of Silver Peak, Nevada where is was reduced in small plants. This is known as the Silver Peak Mining District. Eventually, the company constructed a standard-gauge railroad 17 and 1/2 miles in length, connecting the town of Blair, Nevada with the Tonopah and Goldfield Railroad. After the railroad was completed, ore was shipped to a 100 stamp mill at Blair. Today, Silver Peak is not completely abandoned. Instead of gold and silver, lithium is mined there. The town of Blair is a ghost town with only a few stone structures remaining. Vignette on the certificate shows an early view of the ore processing operation. A miner can be seen in the foreground carrying a shovel, pickax and lunch pail.
