1908 William Howard Taft / Sherman Tin Litho Presidential Campaign Tip Tray For Sale

This fantastic, round, lithograph on tin Tip Tray measures approx. 4 1/4" in diameter and features beautiful Chromolithograph portraits of the candidates in oval frames surrounded by American Flags with a view of the White House at the top and the names of the 10 other Republican Candidates for President from the party's first nominee - Charles Fremont - through Theodore Roosevelt. Text on the rim at the top reads "Grand Old Party" and text at the bottom reads "1856 to 1908".

This outstanding Tip Tray is very attractive and the patriotic motif is similar to the full size Tin Litho Campaign Plate also issued during this campaign (we are also offering an example of this larger Tray this week on ). It is signed by the lithographer - the Meek Company of Coshocton, Ohio and copyright by J. H. Shaw of Philadelphia.

This rare and beautiful, 1908 Taft / Sherman Tin Lithograph Tip Tray is in excellent condition - clean and crisp and beautiful. The chromolithography is brilliant and the surface is exceptionally well preserved with no significant surface wear, no scratches, no surface loss, no staining, no fading, no physical damage and no repairs of any kind. Even the rolled rim is very well preserved with no significant nicks or scrapes. Overall this rare and wonderful Lithograph on Tin Jugate Tip Tray is exceptionally well preserved and displays beautifully.
