◄█ Beautiful leather and textile bound hardback (True) 1911 edition of THE GREAT CONTROVERSY BETWEEN CHRIST AND SATAN; \"The Conflict of the Ages in the Christian Dispensation\" by Mrs. E.G. White; presented to you in impressive, original condition. Ellen G. White was considered a Prophetess and was a founder of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. This was the last printing of the book while she was still alive and she valued it more than silver or gold. It describes the \"Great Controversy theme\" between Jesus and Satan, as played out from the destruction of Jerusalem to the final end when the world is destroyed and recreated.Regarding the reason for writing the book, she reported; \"In this vision at Lovett\'s Grove (in 1858), most of the matter of the Great Controversy which I had seen ten years before was repeated and I was shown that I must write it out\".
This particular printing of the book is substantially and beautifully bound, featuresmesmerizingillustrations,and is printed on the nicest paper I have ever touched. It is easy reading yet comprehensively presents the material in a substantial way; utilizing skillful story telling and a host of direct scriptural references as well as referencing the works of other writers. It includes a Preface (2 pages), Introduction (8 pages), 3 Contents Pages (to include a page referencing Illustrations), Contents (662 Pages), Appendix/General Notes (11 pages), Index of Scripture References (6 pages) and General Index (21 pages). The printed language is English.
This is an amazing book!You will not be book is beautiful condition! There is noticeable but minor surface wear/scuffs on the exterior of the leather spine and the leather corners on the cover. The binding is fully intact and the pages are flawless other than some small glue marks/spatters near the spine on the first few pages (pictured). No dog-ears, no writing, no folds, holes or tears. No foul odors, dirt, dander, stains, or mildew.
