This second-issue Maryland is a beautiful high-gloss plate, is nice and straight, and all four corner hole grommets remain. There is a tiny chip the size of a head of a match on the upper left bolt hole, and a tiny bit of porcelain missing from the upper right edge. There are also a few small shallow dings on the plate, and I can\'t tell if these dings were deep enough to expose white porcelain, and therefore if it has minor black touch up. I do know that there is no white touch up on this plate. I paid $450 for it in 1985, and the price and date are still on the back in the hand of the previous owner.
