1913 US CAVALRY M 1909 BRIDLE HORSE NAMED HARDEMAN #2 CURB BIT MCCLELLAN SADDLE:
$148.00

AREGULATION ORIGINALM 1909 BRIDLE INCLUDING THECAST BRONZED ROSETTES AND A NUMBER2 1909 CURB BIT WITH ITS CHAIN.

A PARTICULARLY UNUSUAL BRIDLE AS IT HAS A BRASS PLATE WITH THE ENGRAVED NAME \"HARDEMAN\" ON THE BROW BAND. I BELIEVE THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A SENIOR OFFICER HORSE BRIDLE TO HAVE HIS HORSE\'S NAME SHOWN OFF IN SUCH MANNER.

THIS BRIDLE HAS AVERYDARK BROWN TO ALMOSTBLACKCOLOR. THE LEATHER ALTHOUGH DRY IS NOT FRAGILETO HANDLE.

A COUPLE OF THINGS WORTH MENTIONING IS THAT THE CROWN PIECE BILLETS FOR THE THROAT LATCH ARE BROKEN AT THE BUCKLE. IT IS NOT TOO NOTICEABLE AS THEBROKEN ENDS ARE HIDDEN BY THE BUCKLES.

ONE OF THE RETAINING LOOP HAS PULLED OUT ON ONE SIDE OF THE LOWER BUCKLE.

IT ISDIRTY FROM FIELD USEAND BEING STORED FOROVER 100 YEARS.

CLEARLY IT IS OLD AND SHOULD NOT BE USED.

THE BRIDLE IS FAINTLY MARKED ON THE CROWN PIECEBY THE MAKER BUT IT IS NOT LEGIBLE. THERE IS A DATE STAMP OF 1913 IN THAT AREA.

THE CURB BIT IS THE MODEL 1909 AND IS STRAIGHT CLEARLY SHOWING WEAR AND FIELD USE BUT IS MOSTLY BRIGHT. IT IS SIZE 2 AND IS ALSO MARKED \"US\" ON THE OTHER SIDE AS IT SHOULD BE.

NOTE THAT THEBRIDLE STAND IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS sale.
