This is an original, NOT A REPRODUCTION, Carnival Bulletin Rex Edition Published by Walle & Co., LTD., New Orleans, February 20th, 1917. This is a Mardi Gras newspaper bulletin, documenting the floats used in the parade scene. It is the Pageant of Rex, "Gifts of the Gods to Louisiana" theme. It is HUGE, 28" x 42", one side has ads and a page describing EACH float and it's meaningand the other is a colored lithograph of the various floats in the Pageant of Rex, King of the Carnival. It pictures 20 numbered floats from #1 Rex, #2 Title: The Gifts of the Gods to Louisiana, # 3 Phoebus: From his molten gold makes sunshine and so on to #20 Aeolus: Guides the White Wings of Commerce. The colors look amazingly vibrant for something almost a 100 years old. It is a great piece, suitable for framing. There are fold lines, a small tear in the middle on the fold line, about a 2" tear from the edge in on the center fold line, two small holes on the folds, wear on the edges, some tanning onbothsides. The illustrations are amazing in their detail as is the color. What an item to display at a Mardi Gras party!I try to inspect items carefully, give detailed descriptions and take good photos.
