This is a great rare print from December 1920.

It is a Police Gazette Most Wanted print showing the most wanted people in Ireland.

You can see Michael Collins at the bottom right hand side along with 4 other men.


Later Winston Churchill,British Politician and Leader of Britain during WWII said that Collins “was an Irish patriot,true and fearless......We hunted him for his life, and he slipped half a dozen times through steel claws”

Collins was Director of Intelligence for the Irish Republican Army (IRA), and member of the Irish delegation during the Anglo-Irish Treaty negotiations.

Subsequently he was both Chairman of the Provisional Government and Commander-in-chief of the National Army. He was shot dead in an ambush on the 22nd of August 1922.

While only 31 when he was killed Collins fought the British Army to a stalemate, negotiated the First Treaty ofIndependenceforIrelandand overseen its transition to democracy.
