Up for sale is a wonderfully designed large RARE 2 spoke top antique football head harness helmet with adjustable front leather head strap - Adult Size helmet which is very large - and measures to approx. size 7 3/8. The cool old beautiful shape and conditioned helmet is a all leather Dog Ear vintage antique football helmet with the extra 2 top leather head strapping.
Very old and early football helmet! Also, check out Patina and strong supple leather condition through out (logo on the back leather panel and is difficult to read, but appears to be Lowell and Campbell.
Not sure that the top leather harness added a lot of protection, but very cool nonetheless. The inside leather straps have a cushiony circular harness to help absorb some of the contact.

The large antique all leather football helmet is very well made/manufactured and has the cool old cross bar harness and nostalgic leather large dog ear style (see photos). The vintage Antique All thick and pliable ALL leather is in REALLY nice shape and condition, you really need to check out ALL of the photos to appreciate the quality and superior craftsmanship (the side enlarged ear guards protrude about a 1/2 inch outside the leather side panels and are tightly sewn (the stitching through-out is tight and clean and intact). The front panels and straps are sewn and stitched! The Circa vintage football helmet dates to the early 1920\'s. The leather through out is tight clean and has many many ventilation holes through-out the side and back. The Interior is in great shape and super straps with leather and wool lining.
Not sure this style would or was built to absorb the head on head collisions - rare style and craftsmanship. Includes intact canvas chin strap, interior soiled wool and leather lining (leather forehead rest).
The leather harness is tightly stitched with spoked interior panels are intact. The back and backside panels are a very thick thick wool 100% intact.
Please see all photos to get a better overall feel and description. This helmet would look awesome on a fireplace mantel or desk/shelf. Wonderful overall vintage antique helmet from the 1920\'s - almost 95+++ years old - WOW!)! The thick brown leather sides and top leather straps are 100% intact.
