Thislisting is for an original Crosley Bonzo, the \"papier mache\" advertising mascot for CrosleyRadio Corporation in the 1920’s. Information on this rare advertising iconcan be found if you google \"Powel Crosley JR Bonzo\". Copied after BONZO the cartoon character from the 1920\'s era. Thisis the large version Bonzo which is very rare, and measures approximately 10inches tall.

ThisBonzo is in better than average condition, and the paper mache is all intact. This is the earliest version of the largeCrosley BONZO PUP. Nothing missingexcept for a very small section of the headphone strap, which still reads CROSLEY PUP. If you lucky enough to find the large dog, the headphone strap is usually completely missing and this one is nice. There are a few minor bumps, especially on the ears. Nothing hasbeen repaired, repainted, or restored. It is 100% original, including paint and detail, the two originalheadphones, and “CROSLEY PUP” headphone strap.

The body is in very good conditionfor over 90 years old, the paper mache is good, solid. Original off white color. Very restorable and wouldn\'t take much to make this look excellent and original looking.

Rare advertising or promotional item fromthe beginning of commercial radio. You will not see this larger version often. The Crosley radio corporation was building asmall radio that the common citizen could afford. They named this radio\"The Pup.\" Crosley introduced thepaper mache“BONZO”, theCrosley Pup Advertising Dog, as the advertising mascot tocompete with Nipper, RCA Victor’s advertising mascot.
