This is a beautifully illustrated and exceptional set of two volumes, An Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry and Its Kindred Sciences. From the title page, \"... Comprising the whole range of arts, sciences and literature as connected with the institution\". This book is by Albert G. Mackey, MD, and prepared under the direction and with the assistance of William Hughan, past Grand Deacon (England), past Grand Warden (Egypt), past Grand Warden (Iowa), past Assistant Grand Sojourner (England), one of the Founders Quatuor Coronati Lodge (London), and by Edward Hawkins, MA. The volumes are profusely illustrated and published in 1921 by The Masonic History Company\".

The books are in excellent condition for age. The leather covers are well preserved with light edge wear. The gilt and black imprinted design are very good. The outer and inner hinges are intact. The bindings are tight. All pages are present and attached. The protective tissue is intact. The pages are in excellent, perhaps even unread (?), condition with no noticeable wear. They are gilt edged on three sides. There is no internal handwriting, no page bends, and no tears.

Each book measures 10 1/2 by 7 1/4 inches and about 2 inches thick. The volumes together weigh 7 1/2 pounds.
