This is a large format booklet ( 9\" x12\"inches aprx) card covers,slightly raggy and grubby covers,

but its 62 pages are absolutely full of photos of the two men and relevant others.

Unfortunately it is missing one page(presumably taken out for the photo on it),

the page in question is 19/20 and as a result the page 29/30 is loose. the page 29/30 also has a small

corner missing as the page seems to have been torn rather than cut.

there is a stamp inside the front cover and the binding is showing in a couple of places.

If it wasnt for that missing page ,it would be a pretty good copy.

It may appeal to someone in this state.i hope.

This record of the careers of Arthur Griffith and Michael Collins, both Free State leaders, was published by Martin Lester Ltd, Dublin to commemorate their deaths in August, 1922 during the Civil War: Griffith died of natural causes while Collins was assassinated just days later.

The book provides a complete photographic record of the lives and careers of its subjects as well as written contributions from a number of their contemporaries including Piaras Beaslai, Kevin O’Higgins, Padraic Colum and Eoin MacNeill. There is no date of publication but Kevin O’Higgins was assassinated in 1927 so the book was published prior to that time and was probably issued shortly after the deaths of the two men as a memorial tribute for the Free State supporters. The front cover contains an illustration by stained-glass artist and book illustrator Harry Clarke (1889-1931).
