1922 MAXFIELD PARRISH FRAMED LITHOGRAPH
Lovely old framed under glass Maxfield Parrish lithograph print measuring about 15-1/2\" long by 10\" deep. Bearing the original wood frame with simple carved designs, image is titled Daybreak, done in 1922 - it was his most popular and best selling print. Featuring a pair of young girls in natural setting, they are posed in a symmetrical composition between two huge columns. Back is covered with a replacement dust cover (I think), old wire hanger and a small tear as shown - frame has light scuffing and gold color is muted from age - the lithograph is in wonderful condition with no tears, holes, fading or wear - I can see the faintest printed name MAXFIELD PARRISH underneath and slightly to the right of the reclining woman\'s outstretched foot. This hung in my Grandmother\'s spare bedroom for years - I think this particular image was produced in three sizes, this being the smallest. It is a peaceful and lovely depiction of a classical scene - the vibrant blue color is so of the era and has become synonymous with Parrish - wonderful addition to any collection or display!
