RA # 735622, V22- artist signed.(RA #s are from late 1920\'s to 1943-1944)This offering is for 4 (four) cups and saucers. (I also have 10 in plates & a vegetable bowl)NO chips, crazing, cracks, imperfections or signs of extensive wear.
The Lombardy by Royal Doulton is a gorgeous hand painted art deco pattern. You can see & feel the raised painting.These days you don\'t see many of these from this time period, especially in this condition. Please search and compare prices of these without imperfections. Lucky you!The Lombardy pattern is in blues, shades of green, red, some yellow and dark blue surrounding the inner bevel & a dark yellow goldish or mustard trim along the edge of a white plate. Exquisite and Classy.History *RA-numbers were assigned to the pattern creator. This artists RA #s werediscontinued after his departure -about 1943 or 1944 & not resumed. The design was without numbers until 1954. Even still they were not RA.
Lombardy created under the original designers supervision, or overall, are really hard to find. I think these could be from as far back as the 30\'s, some possibly late 1920\'s I can not confirm that as I am not an expert on dating china. There is a number that you add to 1927 to factor the date. But look this up on your own to know more. As I understand it, you wont see these often and at some point, maybe never.
