Rare and collectable Hartmann-style leather jacket from the 1930s or early 40s. Zipper front, with 2 flap pockets, 2 chest D-ring zip pocket with OPTI zippers, front button flap, and shearing lined. Main zipper is RITZ.
Type and style as worn by Erich Hartmann and other Luftwaffe pilots during the 2nd world war. Probably German, but pilot\'s jackets of the time were private purchase so could possibly be French as well although zippers are period German.
No damage to lining or shell (the creasing is mainly the result of the flash since the mannequin is slightly small for this jacket). Condition is very good. Please see close ups of skin sample of the leather. All snaps, zippers, pocket liners etc in perfect working order.
I believe the original owner added the shearing lining which was common among enlisted cyclists and pilots -- although quite professionally, may well be period custom order or tailor made.
Ultra rare collectable to see in the US, especially in wearable condition.
