Large 13 7/8\" Antique 1930\'s French Art Deco Opalescent Glass Bowl by Verlux - Etling

Description:

A splendid Art Deco opalescent platter/ bowl with a beautiful frosted, moulded, milky blue glass, depicting 3 pairs of pheasants in long grass. Condition: some surface marking and use wear; a few natural bubbles and mould striations; nothing further found; displays a good fire - Please feel free to ask questions about this item. Circa 1930\'s. Measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Diameter 35cm/13.75in. and is about 2 1/2\" deep.

Verlux French Art Glass

Signed \"Verlux France\" Opalescent Bowl Lalique Sabino Style withPheasants ~ Birds.

It has a very cool frosted opalescent color of yellows/greens/blues. Molded to the underside of the piece, are cock and hen pheasents in a high relief.

This is a great piece!!

This piece is in good condition with no chips or cracks.

Someone has a similar one listed ( at similar price), that does not LOOK frosted.

There are some slightly rough edges/rim thatI believe to be fromproduction since the whole outer and inside edges of the rimhave a semi-rough feel tothem (Insome areas more than others).

You will find several production blemishes such as bubbles, lines etc. which is normal for older glass

Other than the production blemishes and the scratches on inside from use this is in good Condition.

French opalescent glass has not faltered in terms of its collective appeal, it has always remained popular and pieces soon disappear into private hands to become cherished items of wise investment.
