Colorful bi-lingual compendium of Kosher dishes accompanied by full color pictures of several of the recipes, published by the . Manischewitz Co. The text reads, from right to left, in square Hebrew letters in Yiddish and from left to right in English. The English title page describes Tempting Kosher Dishes as being prepared from choice recipes tested and approved in the Manischewitz Experimental Kitchens by Miss F. O. Gahr, B.S., Domestic Science Expert and Graduate in Institutional Management. It has a price of $1.50. On the verso of the title page is a reproduction of a medal award which was awarded to Manischewitz’s Matzos at the World Exposition, Philadelphia. Below is a request the readers submit their favorite recipes which will be carefully tested and that they will pay liberally “for such recipes as are accepted for publication in future editions of this book.” Next is a foreword, followed by a calendar for the Jewish years 1930-31 through 1934-35, a discussion of Manischewitz’s new 100% whole wheat matzo products, their cereal, and then the recipes. It begins with Feather Balls, Alsatian style, accompanied by a picture of a bowl of soup with the feather balls. Next are date bars, also with a picture, followed by Tempting Kosher Dishes, starting with Chocolate Sponge cake. In the center of the book are additional recipes with colorful illustrations. The Yiddish begins with strawberry shortcake, also illustrated.
