This sale is for a 1930\'s antique bamboo fly fishing rod in the original storage sock, marked on the label: SOUTH BEND BAIT CO. - SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, MADE IN U.S.A. - ROD NO. 55 - LENGTH 8 1/2\' - and marked on the rod: SOUTH BEND - 55/8 1/2\' - Please zoom in on all pictures for details. This antique bamboo fly rod has 3 sections the same length and when assembled it is straight with great action and measures 8 1/2\' and it weighs 6.2 oz. Overall for the age it is in excellent condition in my opinion appearing only lightly used with 1 minor detail of the first line guide front tabon the 2nd section has slipped from underneath the thread wraps and was inserted back underneath just a few threads. All other thread wraps are in fine condition and I see no other flaws, repairs, or abuse. It has a spring tight cork cushioned line holder on the end by the reel seat, an extra I have never seen before. The sock is also in excellent condition with no holes or tears and is a little soiled from storage. The sock has just 3 sleeves so I do not think this rod ever had an extra tip. Total weight in the sock is 7.4 oz.
