Vintage vinegar bottle, commonly called Carrie Nation by collectors. It is a very rare find indeed and it being in great condition adds even more value. Made of colorless pressed glass. Embossed on the bottom of the bottle is \' PATENT APPLIED FOR\' , also \'4\' . There are other embossed markings as well one of which is the Owens Illinois Glass Company Mark(See pictures). It has been suggested that Ben Wilson of Toledo, Ohio, patented the design for the bottle on July 15, 1930. It was then produced by the Owens-Illinois Bottle Company of Huntington, West Virginia. The figural bottle of a woman with unbrella and purse, was used to dispense vinegar. The name \"Carie A. Nation\" was given to the bottle by collectors. When it was originally produced it was not given a specific name. (Carry A. Nation, was a temperance leader and ax-wielding crusader from the early 1900s. She gained national reputation delivering lectures and public prayers.)
It is in great condition as it is very clean and has no discolorings, cracks or breaks. We researched all the information from the Internet about this rare unique bottle and included here in the listing.
