For Sale - Beautiful Emerald Cut Diamond Engagement Ring with two Baguette Diamonds. I personally wore this ring for 16 years. It was given to me in 1997. Prior to that, my mother-in-law was proposed to with it in 1967. AND, prior to that, her mother-in-law wore it in the 1930s. I always loved that it was a family heirloom, passed down through the generations. I have been told that it was originally purchased from Tiffany & Co,, although I do not have documentation to support it. The mounting and band was originally platinum. Before my husband proposed to me with it, he had it remounted/reset and replaced the platinum band with 14k yellow gold as that was my preference.
I have the following documentation that I will include photocopies of, at the buyer\'s request. Please note that I will only provide photocopies as the originals are saved in my wedding album/scrapbook because I\'m super sentimental. :-)
1) Appraisal that my father-in-law had done in 1966 which details the following (and please also see the photo from Lakewood Jewelers in Dallas, TX): Emerald Cut, Approx 1.10 carats total weight, Fine White color, Flawless color. In 1966, the ring was valued at $1600.
2) Receipt from when my husband had the ring reset, which provides additional information about the ring (please see attached photo of Tiffany\'s receipt). In 1998, the ring\'s value was assessed by a local jeweler for the purpose of insuring it through our homeowner\'s policy for $8500.
Last week (January 2015), I had a more current appraisal done. I WILL include the original of this document in the sale of this ring. Per this description, the ring is 14 karat yellow gold shank with platinum head containing one emerald cut diamond, quality VVS1, color F. Approx measurements 8.2 by 4.7 by 2.80mm. Total approx weight is one carat with two side baguettes, quality VS, color G. Total approx value was stated at $15,000.
Please note, I had this most recent appraisal done due to the fact that I wanted to be certain on the authenticity of the diamond. Before Christmas, I sold this ring to a woman who ended up being VERY difficult to deal with and had buyer\'s remorse. :-( I accepted the ring back from her, and it arrived back to me with damaged prongs which the jeweler confirmed showed evidence of tampering with the setting. Fortunately, the stone was my original stone, but I had to have repairs made to the setting. All is well now and the ring is back to it\'s beautiful condition and ready to be loved and worn by some other woman who I hope will love it as much as I did.
*** Because of the difficulty I had with the previous buyer, I will absolutely, under no circumstances, accept the return of this ring again.*** If you have ANY questions AT ALL, please ask before purchasing this ring.
