1930’s Vintagehighly figured oak long index-card box with a hinged lid by Globe-Wernicke Co. (No. 7314 C). The interiorof this long box has a sliding adjustable index-card backstop. The hinges are secure and support the long lid very well. This around eightyyears old box wasmanufactured for the storage and organization of regular size 3 x 5 inch indexcards in alphabetical order.This box is very well made. Its clean and durable too. The hinges work perfectly, smooth and quiet. The solid oak panels are thicker than later versions of the same kind ofbox. Its corners are joined with finger-joint dovetailing. This box is ingood condition as is demonstrated by the accompanying photographs.Boxdimensions – 14” x 5-3/4” x 4-1/2.”
