1930s Rare VOTE AGAINST PROHIBITION Matchbook Cover REPEAL Bootlegging Gangster:
$16.00
Scarce anti-prohibition matchbook cover, early 1930s, 4-1/4\" x 1-1/2\". Staple removed and now flattened; mild soiling and handling wear; otehrwise very good overall.
The exterior features the slogans \"Vote Against Prohibition\" and \"Prohibition Means Bootlegging and Gangsterism\"; the interior notes that \"Prohibition Destroys Freedom.\" Though undated, the item appears to date from the effort to repeal the 18th Amendment that began in earnest in the late 1920s and was finally achieved with the ratification of the 21st Amendment in 1933.
Rare; I was unable to find a single other example.
