This is a very rare item - a large bound hard cover volume of House and Garden magazines from 1931 (!) Pre-World War II magazines of this type are quite scarce - especially a title like this. Libraries used to save these back issues and have them professionally bound like large hardcover books. They were kept in the reference department. Therefore, this was a \"book\" that was never \"published\" and never \"sold\" in the regular sense of standard published books. Not only that, it was a book that could not even be \"checked out\" from the library either because it was a reference book. Buying something like this is like having the chance to buy a piece of history that has been under lock and key at a museum - a rare and historic cultural relic.
A great coffee table book ... a spectacular gift idea for anyone who likes vintage interiors and graphics ... NOTE - will be shipped media mail and unlike many other listings for big, heavy books I have not \"padded\" the shipping cost. I charge just six DOLLARS (!) I pick up a chunk of the cost as a thank you. Don\'t let someone snatch this away from you just because they offer $1.00 more than you did, don\'t be the \"next highest buyer\" on this one, make sure your offer is strong - protect yourself against last minute buyers (snipers) with a strong offer placed early. That is the only way to keep the snipers at bay. NOTE - this is an ex-library book and it is quite old -- it appears to be fully intact, but I do not have time to inspect every page ofsuch a massive volume.
