One of the least common examples of the Izogiz Collective propaganda publications by Russian author Ekaterina Shabad with lithographic illustrations by Russian artists of the Izogiz Collective. An excellent example of the Constructivist influence on children’s book design during the height of the Soviet propaganda movement. Using the compass theme of North, South, East and West, this booklet was said to encourage the children to explore the “ever changing” and expanding aspects of Soviet society through agriculture and industry as presented by the USSR’s Five Year Plan.
