The book boards and spine have been very lightly bumped and stained. The front board is in beautifully condition with gilt title and decorations. The rear board has a very little stain otherwise perfect. The spine is also in lovely condition with gilt decorations and title. The fore-edge has very light storage dust mark. The front and rear end papers have lovely pictures on them and no staining or foxing. On the 3rd and 4th front end papers is a very nice inscription from the NAVY LEAGUE in appreciation. This beautiful book is a true 1st edition and not a later print. At the front of the book is a 1 page list of the lovely colour plates which all still have there title tissue guards intact with no rips, stains, foxing. The 12 beautiful colour plates have been illustrated by the very well known artist ARTHUR RACKHAM. Also the book has many head-pieces and vignettes in black and white throughout this lovely book. Next this book has a 5 page preface and a 1 page CHARACTERS list The inner pages are in excellent condition with just 1 or 2 finger smudges. This book has 256 pages of which all are present and very much intact. This book is in beautifully condition has been very well looked after. Please remember that this book is 81 years old.
