They were folded into quarters when they were mailed to subscribers, which were typically stores or newsstands which tacked them up to be viewed by customers.)This poster covers the shocking news of the takedown of a would-be assassin who tried to kill the King Edward of England. Though primarily famous now as the man who abdicated the British throne to marry the American divorcee Wallis Simpson, Edward VIII reigned as king for only 11 months, and this incident was one of the most dramatic events during the brief time he was the head of the British Empire.
