This is a terrific 8” x 11” complete 12page calendar published in 1937 by the Allen Co in Los Angeles. Each monthlypage has a steel engraving of art by noted Navy artist Arthur Beaumont, eachdepicting a ship of the US Navy which would go on to serve in World War II. Heldtogether at top by two original brass rings and a tied fancy cord. The imageswith borders are approx. 5” x 7”. Included are USS Pennsylvania (BB 38); USSArgonaut (SM-1, a submarine sunk in 1943); USS ranger (CV 4); USS New Mexico(BB 40); USS Raleigh (CL 7, at Pearl Harbor on 12/7/1941); USS California (BB44, sunk at Pearl Harbor, refloated); USS Pruitt DD 347); USS Indianapolis (CA35, sunk 1945); USS San Francisco (CA 38, an amazing 17 battle stars); USSDewey (DD 349); USS Saratoga (CV 3); and USS Louisville (CA 28).
