Offered for sale from the Hedemarken consignment is this illustratedadvertising cover for The Armstrong Lumber Company in Alexandria, Virginia. The corner card notes that they are Dealers in Building Materials and located at Fayette & Madison Streets in Alexandria, Virginia. It also listed the phone as Alexandria 1787. The cover promotes Alpha Cement and was mailed to a company in Richmond, Virginia. There is a printed note Ask Us for 112-pp. ALPHA Book on Cement Work. The reverse of the cover pictures the inside of a barn with the legend \"Concrete Barn Floors Are Good Investments\". There are more than a dozen cattle with their heads into the stalls. The illustration also has a bag labeled Alpha Portland Cement. The cover is franked with a strip of three 1c Washington Presidentials and machine cancelled in Alexandria in 1938. This would make agreat addition to a collection ofVirginia advertising covers.
