Up for sale is an antique Composition Doll. She is 15\" tall, wearing a complete WAAC uniform from WWII. Great example of the Women\'s Uniform of the day. Hard to find with the dress uniform which as sewn in underwear, the tie, the jacket with brass buttons and ribbon trim on sleeves and pockets, the cap with same ribbon trim and the Eagle insignia pin. These parts of the uniformare original to the doll. I believe the shoes and socks were replaced some time ago, but definitely are not as old as the doll and rest of outfit. Overall this uniform is in excellent vintage condition (considering it\'s over 70 years old!)It\'s been washed, starched and ironed and she is ready to display.
The doll herself displays very well, even though she has some issues. Her compo head is actually very good with very minor crazing by her eye, but it\'s not bad. Great facial painting. Has a bit of lipstick wear. She has her original mohair wig which looks good around the hat. It\'s very sparse under the hat however, but it doesn\'t show when the hat is on. Her composition on her arms and legs is very good. No missing toes or fingers. The damage is to her torso as shown in the photo. It is taped and I did not remove the tape as I didn\'t want to destabilize her. The bottom of her torso has been broken as you can see. Her legs are still strung correctly to her head and she can hold a pose. You may or may not want to look for a replacement torso. She displays very nicely as I said above and it\'s rare to find these WAAC dolls in any condition. Check for yourself what is up on . Her starting price reflects the damage to this doll and you are buying her as is.
